...was founded by Neil Brown, Will McDonald and Natalie Brown and opened on 26th Feb 2004 at John Hunt of Everest School in Basingstoke. Classes were initially taught by Sensei's Neil Brown (2nd dan) and Will McDonald (2nd dan). In August of 2004 Natalie Brown(1st dan) joined the list of instructors. Twelve months later Sensei McDonald moved to London to join the Metropolitan Police, but does still make guest appearances on the mat in Basingstoke every now and then!
A new regular teaching team was eventually formed consisting of Neil Brown, Natalie Brown,Richard Harrop (2nd dan) and Jimmy Slaughter (2nd dan). In 2006 the club was recognised by the National Lottery authority and awarded funding for new mats and equipment. In July 2007 Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Basingstoke moved to it's new home at Costello Technology College, Basingstoke.
Aiuchi Basingstoke has regular appearances by various instructors from within the organisation who may teach a mid-week session or a weekend course (keep an eye on the Notices page for upcoming events).
The Aiuchi association runs regular weekend training courses and social events locally and nationally within the UK. This allows students from clubs around the UK to mix and train together as well as learn from the wealth of knowledge and experience held by their instructors.
You will find our club very welcoming, friendly and sociable with a good mix of ages, experience and abilities on and off the mat.
New members are ALWAYS welcome to any of our sessions.
